Da Yu Protein Sciences – Fermentations
Da Yu Protein Sciences offers small-scale benchtop fermentation services (< 5L) to clients. We utilize various growth media, both complex and chemically-defined, to meet the specific needs of a client’s project. Either client provided E. coli strains or proprietary strains from Da Yu Protein Sciences can be used. Da Yu Protein Sciences has fermentation capabilities meeting the following objectives:
- Production of non-radioactive isotopically-labeled proteins – We can express 15N- or 13C- labelled recombinant proteins to support NMR studies for structure determination or small molecule drug screening.
- Preparation of cell paste – We can grow E. coli cultures to high cell density (OD600 > 100) and produce several hundred grams of wet cell paste. Da Yu Protein Science can provide this cell paste, shipped frozen to the client, for further processing.
- Cell lysate preparation – Wet cell paste prepared from one of our high-cell density E. coli fermentations can be lysed to provide either a soluble fraction or washed inclusion bodies to the client.
